The Philosophy Department held its annual writing contest. Thanks to everyone who submitted a paper. We had some very good essays. The entries were judged by three Philosophy faculty looking for the BEST ARGUMENT in defense of the most INTERESTING ETHICAL VIEW.
The two winners of the $750 cash prize are:
Raymond Peters - "A Defense of Suicide
from Utilitarian Criticism"
James Villemarette - "The Burmese
Dilemma"
This contest is financially supported by the Class of 1955 Ethics Endowment Fund.
